The World largest Ganimede® vinificators.

The wine and grape growing zone of Almendralejo (Badajoz – Extremadura – Spain) receives the World largest Ganimede fermenters, with a capacity of 250.000 litri.


Bodegas Romale and Coop. Viticultores de Barros place the World largest Ganimede fermenters.

Bodegas Romale and Coop. Viticultores de Barros, two wine and grape growing companies situated in Almendralejo (Badajoz), have recently installed the World largest Ganimede fermenters.

Bodegas Romales has bought four fermenters with conical bottoms and Coop. Viticultores de Barros has opted for the conical-truncated bottom version with mechanical extraction of the skins. All these fermenters have a capacity of 250.000 liters and they can process 200.000 kilos of red grapes with a “perfect temperature control thanks to the typical manufacturing shape of the system”.

For this reason the company Ganimede and Eras, the representative for Estremadura,have organised the 13th of december an event at Bodegas Romales where the managers of the wineries and the supplier companies met up together with clients and friends of this area.                                                                                                                                    

The origin of Ganimede

The Metodo Ganimede, born in 1997 thanks to a brilliant idea of the winemaker Francesco Marin, is based on a patented vinification method that exploits the huge natural potential represented by the fermentation gas (40/50 liters of CO2 every liter of must) to obtain a delicate and soft extraction of the noble substances only. Conceived as winemaker supporter, the Metodo Ganimede is a simple technology, economic and versatile.

During the years the system gained market shares and it has attracted the attention of winemakers and wine producers all over the World who have invested in this innovative system.
